Field Trip to Kunia Camp
I had the honor and privilege of being asked to shoot Kunia Camp’s first ever field trip to youth wanting to learn more about local agriculture and sustainability. We started off in the kukui nut fields where the students picked and bagged nuts gathered by hand. From there the nuts were counted, weighed and husked. We learned about the many different applications to the kukui nut, including, oil, lip balm, lotion, soap and even salad dressing! The students participated in harvesting and sanitizing their own lettuce. Last, we sampled sugar case juice freshly squeezed from a sugar cane processor. Lunch was complete! Yum! Thanks Kunia Camp for allowing me to be part of this project! Lucky we live Hawaii!
