Di and Lucy were both born in China and moved to the US at a young age. They both grew up with a mix of eastern and western cultures, and thought Hawaii was the perfect destination to represent that and share their love. Lucy always knew Hawaii was special since she has a birthmark in its shape, and it has the magical island vibes that embody everything they love about life and each other! When Di and Lucy first stepped foot on Hale Nanea at Kualoa Ranch, they knew it was going to be their venue. Not only does it capture the incredible beauty this world has to offer, but the movie “50 First Dates” was filmed there – it’s one of Lucy’s favorite movies and the main character even shares her name. Of all the details at the wedding, they are most excited for the signature drinks and the cake. The drinks really show the differences in our personalities, and the cake symbolizes how their personalities and interests come together in the relationship. The cake also brings their hashtag #lucyintheskywithdi to life!
