Radhika and Amit Wedding Highlights (Oahu)
We frequently get to experience a wide range of traditions from the weddings we shoot. Radhika and Amit were no exception to this. We were honored to be a part of, and to capture, their four days of Indian celebrations which occurred across the entire island of Oahu. From henna and their Hindu marriage, to their reception, where everyone was involved and offered their own special piece of support, it was an experience we will never forget. The following is an excerpt from their wedding coordinator which explains the importance of their Hindu ceremony:
“The Hindu marriage ceremony encompasses a collection of ancient rituals and traditions, which are intended to signify the bonding of two families and illustrate the importance of this moment in the bride and groom’s life. Performed mainly in Sanskrit by the priest, each portion of the marriage has symbolic meaning. By the time of completion, the souls of the husband and wife are to have become spiritually one. The marriage ceremony also provides an opportunity for family and friends to show their support and give their blessings to the new couple.”
Thank you for sharing your traditions and culture with us!
